Robbie Torres and Claire Frost met in August 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. Claire was thriving as an introvert who could now spend the time she used to be commuting, riding her bike around the Marin Headlands, cooking, and drinking natural wine on the roof with Belle. Robbie was soothing his loneliness drinking Henhouse IPA's with his roommates, watching a lot of bad television, and taking long walks along the creek with his dog-roommate Grizzlyⓘ (the self-proclaimed, saddest dog in the world). Luckily, as the summer peaked, we were both encouraged to join Tinder by people we were living with. After a FaceTime where Robbie was amused by the large plant leaf which continuously brushed against Claire's head without her noticing, they decided to meet in person at Tennessee Valley for a walk to the beach—despite the orange wildfire smoke that filled the sky. As the pandemic meandered on, and the smoke cleared, their connection grew and they realized that though all things must pass
* they were going to stick around for each other. Also, once Robbie realized his deep love for Claire's cat Cluⓘ, there was no going back... they were a family. Since then they have watched a lot of Love Island and created a home together in Oakland.
*George Harrison's iconic album that Robbie recommended to Claire and which she listened to on her drive to our third date and thought if we get married we have to play this at our wedding
